Here we go!
Finally registered a domain name.
Which means I need to start talking about Matchoo and what's to come.
The short of it is that Matchoo is an educational app coming soon to a mobile device near you. The app uses Unreal Engine's latest gaming technology to enhance the learning experience, anything a modern game can do on your device can be utilized in app.
The aim is to provide a fun, useful application with a huge target audience that can both support its developers and add real value to peoples lives. The application is a platform for different types of gameplay and learning material delivery.
So far this has been a solo effort, with my head down shaping the app for the last year now. While there is much to be done before release on the unsuspecting public (including making them a bit more suspicious) but finally I'm ready to partner with content creators. The name of the game is learning and now its time to start diversifying the content. The intention is to provide an enjoyable backup to traditional learning approaches in any field you can imagine. Languages, history, science, bird calls and tropical pathogens are all possibilities.
Who are these content creators? For now they are free, likely experienced and might provide skills in the following areas:
Payment options are limited right now but this will hopefully change over the upcoming year and if we do make money those in early will hopefully get some sort of financial compensation.
Let me know if you are interested in taking part! While there might or might not be work immediately available (going to have to grow very slowly to start with) having a database of interested parties means I can talk to you first when things do become available, or necessary.

- Product management: Look for partners and funding, manage overall shape and status of any different developments we get going, find avenues to advertise our existence.
- Language specialists: Languages have been my test case and will likely lead the charge of released content. I'd like to put together vocab for all the core European languages. Both language accuracy and creative writing skills are needed.
- Artists: Overall art direction. UI and Textures, FX! Some 3D modelling and 3D animation too as we start using the engines features. 2D and FX are the biggest requirements.
- Designers: there are a host of needs here, develop level flow using the existing tools, work in Unreal to develop new gameplay mechanics, work with programmers (me right now!) to improve the existing features.
- Sound: Bring the game to life with sound. Hook up sounds to all sorts of player actions both in menu traversal and gameplay, source music where appropriate.
- Web page developer: This page, future development options, online instructions, a content development portal, community management and eventually a version of the app hosted online.
- Programmers: Gameplay, Graphics, UI, Platform Development, Online features. The potential list is as long as my arm depending on your skills there are many ways you could help.
